Description, including signature and date
This colorful bottle was bought in the Balkans. The cross and all the tools are painted black with gold with silver dots. In the corners of the cross are gold, red, and silver cornerblocks, and a small gold cross is attached to the front of the top of the cross on flexible wires. The figures of Christ, Mary and John are cut from religious cards. The cross is dated 1909 on the back, but the bottle itself could be older, because it has a broken pontil mark on the bottom and the entire neck and lip was applied after the body of the bottle was blown.

Several bottles have been seen that are similar to this in style and color, including one from 1931 on this website, but there is not quite enough evidence to say all were made by the same artist.
