Description, including signature and date

This triple crucifix features three figures, each nailed through bloodied hands and feet to crosses. The figure of Christ is also pierced in his side by a spear, still in his body. All three are wearing long paper skirts.

The bottle is signed on a piece of paper on the back, "Made by" handwritten, "Charlies James" typed, and "11-10-1917" handwritten again. The story given by the person who was selling the bottle is that Charlies James made this bottle in a German prison camp, where he died. He is supposedly buried in Virginia. A nearly identical bottle, has signatures that look like Vaughn and Wm ---- and somewhere in Pennsylvania, but the glass on the bottom is so thick that it can't be read. But it is definitely not "Charlie James." Perhaps the two makers were in prison camp together, or perhaps this one was made in memory of Charlie James. The piece of paper with his name on it could have been added to the bottle later.
