11" Round quart, no markings
Description, including signature and date
A well-carved cross and tools fill this quart bottle, which contains a pale yellow liquid. Usually, the liquid turns out to be some kind of whiskey. The most widely held theory is that makers of religious bottles in whiskey were saying that the cross can conquer the temptation of alcohol. Also it has been suggested that the whiskey killed pain, and the refilling of the bottle with a religious message also kills pain, perhaps brought on by loneliness.
