flask, no markings This bottle contains a framed card, showing a picture of ttintype.htmlon one side and a cross from an Easter card on the other. The frame itself is decorated with cut strips of cards which are attached to the wooden jointed frame with tiny nails. The stopper has a cross-piece through a hole on the bottom. 8" tall flask This bottle contains a picture of a World War II sailor named Howard C. Gosnell. The bottle was found in Wellman, Iowa, where Mr. Gosnell might have lived. It may have been a memorial to Mr. Gosnell. Above his picture and name aphoto2.htmlsed American flag. The maker of this bottle also made the three president bottles below. (Full image.)
7 1/2" tall flask This bottle contains a framed print or card with a picture of President Andrew Jackson. On the tobelieveit.html are two crossed American flags. The bottle came from Wellman, Iowa, and was probably made by the same artist as the one above and the two below. (Full image.)

11 3/4" tall, 6 1/2" in diameter gallon jug with "One Gallon" embossed in the glass at the bottom This jug contains a simple unpainted Shrmemory.htmlre of two side posts. Tied between them is a two sided picture, a large cutout photograph of boxer Joe Louis on one side, and a newspaper picture of Joe Louis eating fried chicken with two women on the other. Artificial flowers are tied all over the top of the frame, and two American flags, a chenille chick, more artificial flowers, and two more newspaper pictures are at the bottom. 8 12" tall flat flask This bottle contains a photograph on cardboard, framed, with a whimsey fan on top of the frame. (Full image)
10 1/8" tall, 3 7/8" wide, 2 5/8" deep GUARANTEED FULL QUART embossed at bottom, no other markings This bottle contains a photograph glued behind a frame made of Victorian flower cutouts. At the bottom of the bottle is some shredded material, a bit of cotton snow and a cutout of a mansion and tree. (Full image and closeup)
7 3/4" tall, 3 1/4" wide, 1 1/4" deep flask with ONE PINT embossed on the back This flask contains a very simple frame with pictures on both sides. What makes it unusual is that the man in the pictures was a bottle maker and is pictured with one of his constructions in a big jug. And he is identified with a taped-on-the-outside label: "(81 yrs old) John Findley Fayetteville, Ark. 1974." (Full image and other side)
7 1/2" tall flask This flask contains a framed copy of a cartoon by H. T. Webster of the old New York Herald Tribune. An old man is showing a boy his whittled whimsey. The bottle is signed on the back "1985 V.I.R.," which, I was told, was one Virgil I. Rohl, but I can't find any record of his existence. Someone else told me they thought his name was Roth. 8" tall, 3 3/4" wide flask, screw top, ONE PINT embossed at the bottom, WINE and some numbers on the bottom The frame around the picture of a girl in cowboy clothes and perhaps a grandfather is simple but was nailed at each corner. The frame rests on an easel made of whittled pliers, with one pair of pliers at the top and another at each end of the legs.
